White

 Well, tomorrow is the last day of school.  I have made my little goodbye gifts for all of my boys classmates and their teachers (you totally want to see them right?)  I planned a little water party with some of the other cute moms in my neighborhood for our kids. Oh it's gonna be good....

 This week has been completely crazy.  We have had field day, field trips, awards ceremonies, baseball games, competition soccer tryouts and have eaten fast food nearly every night (so sick of it!!)  I can't wait until next week and we get to RELAX (here's to hoping!)  Well my wonderful readers, have a LOVELY weekend!

Cobalt and Yellow

 Yellow and blue have got to be one of my favorite color combinations.  I wear it quite a bit.  You'll have to forgive the weird lighting in the pictures, my camera was on a weird setting. 

 Josh was taking pictures again and he always says weird stuff to make me laugh.  It is also always funny when someone walks or drives by  we act like life is totally normal with me dressed up and Josh holding a camera (my other awesome photographer Brittany does the same thing...everyone knows we are taking pictures but we act like we are just talking from across the yard :)

 This was one of my "on the run outfits".  I don't have too many accessories as it was it was a day full of errands and baseball (have I mentioned baseball runs our lives...oh good :) 

 Just a casual simple outfit.

José Eber Product Review and a Hair Tutorial

 A few weeks ago I was contacted by José Eber about doing a review of some of their products.  I was invited to check out their website and pick out a few that I would like to try.  Well first off I have to say I was beyond THRILLED about it.  I had heard of José Eber before and knew their products were amazing, but I TRIED to play it cool.  I went onto their website and drooled over the dozens of awesome, not to mention cute, products.  In then end I decided on the Jose Eber Pro Series 25 mm Curling Iron in Giraffe , the Jose Eber 100% Ceramic 1 ¼” –Pink Heart and the Jose Eber Multi-Use Styling Comb.

 I have to say that I tried to be patient waiting for them to get here, but I was so excited!  When They came I opened the box and promptly fell in love.  I am somewhat a sucker for presentation, and this presentation was awesome.  The boxes as well as the products were SO CUTE!!

 You can't tell me that these babies wouldn't make getting ready in the morning all that much more fun (and I am tellin' ya, they do)!!

  They heat up and curl my hair SUPER fast and they have cut down my hair styling time by a lot. 

Now a little hair styling tutorial.  This is my ritual I go through each morning when I do my hair.  I don't like to blow dry my hair after getting out of the shower.  It is somewhat fine and I worry a lot about damage, so I usually shower the night before and then put my hair in a ponytail on top of my head to dry.  In the morning I use a blow dryer for to finish it up, but thanks to the air dry, it is pretty quick.

I then take my curling iron, turn it upside down and curl the ends of my hair, leaving out a bit of hair at the end.  I love that this curling iron is clipless because when I am doing my hair normally, I have to hold the clip open while I curl my hair.  This is so much easier to use!

The hubs was taking my pictures while I did my hair and he kept making me laugh.  He was taking his job as my photographer very seriously telling me to give him certain faces and it was just funny. 

I like more of a relaxed curl so I take different thicknesses of hair to curl and I leave it in about 7 seconds for a relaxed look and about 10 for a more curled one (at least that works for my hair).

Half way done...maybe I should go with this hair style some day.  What do you think, fashion forward? :)

This is what my hair looks like from the back.  I run my fingers through it a bunch to get the curl to relax even more.  I have to say again, this seems like it is time consuming, and it used to be a little bit, but now it is super fast thanks to these awesome products!!

I then take my extra cute straightener and straighten my bangs and "wings" (I would have been loving my random curl at my temples in the 80s...)  This straightener, like the curling iron is so awesome and speedy, as it seems I am always hurrying to be somewhere I just love how fast I can get ready now.

Last but not least I use this AWESOME comb.  I don't have a picture of me using it because my boys also love it, especially my 2 year old and he has claimed it, putting it in one of his hiding spots (the joys of a mommy style blogger).  I am actually DYING without it.  It is the best thing I have ever used for backcombing.  I am in love with it.  I love it's different widths so I can decide if I want a more tight or loose back comb. 

This is the finished product with much better light.  I have to say my experience with José Eber was amazing.  Their products are not only the cutest thing around, but so so AMAZING!

Creamsicle and Mint

 I hope that everyone had a WONDERFUL Memorial Day.  We had such a good time, we started the day off with Josh making everyone thin pancakes which are a favorite at our house.  It is sort of like a crepe, but we put butter and syrup on it.   We then took the boys on a good long bike ride.

The sad news is that I totally wrecked on my bike...trying to take a picture of the boys with my phone.  Yep I pretty much deserved it, but they were so cute riding their bikes following Josh.  Just like little ducks, I couldn't help myself.  I tried to stop with one hand and apparently my breaks are pretty sensitive.  I flew over my handle bars and my phone went flying.  Can I just say how grateful I am for my phone cover?  I have this one and it has saved my phone a million times!!  I love it.  I have had a few in the past that didn't have such great protection. 

 We had a great time on the bike ride and the rest of the day we checked things off of our "to do" list and then ended it with a fun BBQ complete with corn on the cob and watermelon (and let's not forget lemonade and IBC Cream Soda).  They the boys played late into the night (past their bed times anyway) anti-i-over with the neighborhood.  It was such a perfect way to say hello to summer!

 This is our last week of school and it is going to be full of so much fun.  I can't wait to get our summer vacation started!

Adventure

Yesterday Josh was so excited to take our family to the air show at the Air Force base by our house.  We have gone to the air show quite a few times and have usually been so hot, so when our boys came out of their rooms dressed in shorts we didn't think anything.  Well...the day ended up being rainy and FREEZING!

 We luckily had brought an awning (you know to sit under in case it was too sunny and hot) and just as we got it up, the rain came POURING down on us.  Just after it started raining, the wind began to blow and it was just crazy!!

We tried to bundle the boys up the best we could.  Luckily all but one of them had brought jackets (and that one ended up in mine...yep I was cold!)  As the wind kept trying to blow our awning away we held onto it with all our might and then the thunder and lightening began.  The air show was postponed until further notice and we decided to hunker down and wait it out.

 We wanted to head home, but the water was coming down in buckets full and we were so far away from where we had parked that we figured it would be better to stay under the awning until it cleared up.  We were under there for about 3 hours!  Luckily we had brought games and snacks to keep the boys happy.

 Overall they were such good sports and the rain even cleared up and the air show resumed.  I don't think any of us will EVER forget that experience.

Target for the Win!!

 

So we all have heard the advice that when budgeting for clothing one should always spend money on classic pieces that you will wear forever and try to buy cheaper trendy pieces.  I have to admit I have spent a little more on my colored jeans in the past, mostly because I couldn't find cheaper ones that I liked.  Well...I was given a tip from one of you amazing readers about Target and their wonderful array of colored jeans so I thought I would check it out.

Well, much to my excitement they had awesome jeans with great colors (including mint!!!!) for only $25.00ish.  I have wanted red forever and I am now the proud owner of these little red numbers that I am pretty sure I will be wearing regularly.  Don't you just love a deal???

To be honest, I liked them better than some of my more expensive jeans.

Target is so hit and miss for me, but I had some serious luck this past week...you might want to check it out!!

Maxi Skirt

 I LOVE a good maxi skirt.  There is something so easy and fun about them.  This shade of blue has been one of my favorite colors of the season, I especially love it with yellow (and the yellow belt has sneaked it's way into a post again :).

 

 Today was so COLD!  It took me by surprise.  As we headed to yet another baseball game, we had to bundle up with jackets and blankets, after which I went to get frozen yogurt with friends...I shivered the whole time but I am determined to continue acting as if it is summer no matter what :) 

We have a little shaved ice place down the street from us and I am counting down the days until June 1 when it opens.  They do the best shaved ice, but then they put some concoction on top of it made of sweet and condensed milk and pure yumminess that seriously is heaven in a cup.  Josh and I love it, and it is a good thing we didn't discover it until the end of last summer or we might have overdosed on it the whole summer, I see complete lack of control this year...

 

 Does anyone have fun Memorial Day plans??  We are thinking of a couple of things but thus far haven't decided anything yet.  I'd love to know what YOU are doing!!  Only 2 days and counting...

Here are a couple of pictures that I took on Instagram (if you want to follow me, I am Emily7n) at the baseball game tonight.  This my 6 year old who is so silly.  He is always making me laugh...even when he is freezing.

We couldn't get McKay to sit under a blanket, so Josh put his jacket on him.  It was a little big :)
